Charlie Bieger has been founding companies since he was 13, and he builds them to do some good along the way.
CBX Apparel was the first. He started it in New York in 2019, drew every graphic by hand, and ran it for six years before winding it down with care at the end of 2025. CBX partnered with the Nyack Homeless Project so that orders sent meals and clothes to families nearby, and the Rose Collection gave away all of its profits.
He now runs Veloro, a bespoke knitwear house whose first piece is a baby cashmere sweater knit in Italy, and brsts, which makes patent-pending cocktail pods. He publishes iOS apps under Apps by Charlie. He is based in New York.

Why start a clothing label at 13?
Because he could draw, and a drawing on a sweatshirt is the shortest distance between making something and someone else wanting it. CBX was the first place he learned to ship: to make a product, photograph it, sell it and stand behind it.
What was CBX Apparel?
A clothing label whose every graphic was drawn by hand. Its line was the whole brief: creative people are our people. Clothing for people who make things, made by someone who did.
What did CBX do for the community?
CBX partnered with the Nyack Homeless Project, a local nonprofit. Every order donated meals and clothes to families in need. The work was covered by the Rockland County Times in 2023.
What was the Rose Collection?
The collection that gave away all of its profits. It was the best-selling thing CBX ever made, and the one Charlie is proudest of.
Why did CBX close?
It was wound down with care at the end of 2025, after six years. Nothing went wrong. Charlie's attention moved to Veloro and brsts, and a label that is drawn by one person does not run itself in the background.
